You see Peter intended to do put in another driveway off the main one so we could get our second car into the garage. Peter ordered all the components to do the job including hiring a cement mixer as well. How did he go? Well, first section done on Friday with some rain, Saturday, the rain was a little heavier, but he managed to get the next section done. Today, yes well, 100% rain, but Peter, being Peter, soldiered on and yay .... got the job finished. Quite comical in some ways when we bought out the gazebo to keep the rain off the laid concrete until it 'went off' a bit. Well, I actually booked us into a night show at the Information Centre of the history of Quilpie. It featured a film after we were greeted and given a 'happy hour' snack box and a drink of wine, beer or punch AND you got to keep either your wine glass or stubby cooler.</i></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimwVLPHp4X4gKKvO0tFGMm7TPvYRUhC8dBBwqwRUaK8gHxFqfyWXm50NisHjLU8-gGPFsqJXDxlx_wKpksx-M-7RmcLxuNUhidvojwOzh_gQZ3BdLzPa0EBOCdIB41nXuE05b0eFTkJzgJxmiOTQrWYPx6oWt4ysRIiXQ0i0k63DnxrkvaY-MTQkCLVxiE/s4608/P8080036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="3456" data-original-width="4608" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimwVLPHp4X4gKKvO0tFGMm7TPvYRUhC8dBBwqwRUaK8gHxFqfyWXm50NisHjLU8-gGPFsqJXDxlx_wKpksx-M-7RmcLxuNUhidvojwOzh_gQZ3BdLzPa0EBOCdIB41nXuE05b0eFTkJzgJxmiOTQrWYPx6oWt4ysRIiXQ0i0k63DnxrkvaY-MTQkCLVxiE/s320/P8080036.JPG" width="320" /></i></a></div><p><i>The boxes included dip, cracker biscuits, carrot sticks, dried fruit, nuts and fresh strawberries and a couple of grapes as well. Some time last year a couple of ladies at our Tuesday Sewing Group had a little fold up (OK they twist) thread bins - a little bin to put your thread scraps when you are stitching. They are so cute and looked easy enough to make. </i></p><p><i>As we all do, checked in with Mr Google and printed off some instructions to make myself a little thread bin. Well ..... I couldn't make head nor tale of these - it sounded so complicated.</i></p><p><i>Next time at my Sewing Circle Group, asked one lady if I could borrow hers for the week and try and work it out myself. Oh my goodness how easy are they to make!</i></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzinFYTqG25QIsSvTckRnmJCipoTa2dOOcV_s3aqattB5jp7Meeq4zQKNDu1ChvcXO5ph60rir9YBn7NJmFqNU-vGbJ8CfwyKyjvJiCdEyopZtOcIz9pe7S5HCjyz7xLsduZ1vWlrbhOGOxqqF6clxN_DDg78rAluPB6zAsAN5q49WcRh0S562cmRu9Q/s1008/Resized_20230226_084455.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="756" data-original-width="1008" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzinFYTqG25QIsSvTckRnmJCipoTa2dOOcV_s3aqattB5jp7Meeq4zQKNDu1ChvcXO5ph60rir9YBn7NJmFqNU-vGbJ8CfwyKyjvJiCdEyopZtOcIz9pe7S5HCjyz7xLsduZ1vWlrbhOGOxqqF6clxN_DDg78rAluPB6zAsAN5q49WcRh0S562cmRu9Q/s320/Resized_20230226_084455.jpeg" width="320" /></i></a></div><p><i>So much so, I made three of them - two of them are for a couple of friends.</i></p><p><i>AND what makes these so unusual is that the top band is actually an egg ring, yes you read that right and a piece of cardboard or plastic is in the bottom. They are made from scraps, so it uses up sosme of your scrap stash too. To fold them up at the end of your stitching session is that you twist the whole thing and it keeps your thread bits inside and not fall all over your basket or whatever you use to hold your stitching. Could also be used for knitting and/or crocheting ends too.</i></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgaA-WKP2KLxuZESQxcBAMfQMEu8-z4NxYcIegXvcT3OgoV6tX3XJnoj8aOvwVrMlhGyez9O7XgC5MhHLTmLG5ValAzcqbH_zyZncWdHGLfLOB26lJqHJ-4Op8eWnugbT5eCeECHlHpCOV-ZTlleL4tkdfyR6ix_9Xh3wiT98BbtB3aiolNxXWCrP7gw/s1008/Resized_20230226_084535.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="756" data-original-width="1008" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgaA-WKP2KLxuZESQxcBAMfQMEu8-z4NxYcIegXvcT3OgoV6tX3XJnoj8aOvwVrMlhGyez9O7XgC5MhHLTmLG5ValAzcqbH_zyZncWdHGLfLOB26lJqHJ-4Op8eWnugbT5eCeECHlHpCOV-ZTlleL4tkdfyR6ix_9Xh3wiT98BbtB3aiolNxXWCrP7gw/s320/Resized_20230226_084535.jpeg" width="320" /></i></a></div><p><i>Don't they look cute, the base actually tucks up under the egg ring.</i></p><p><i>Now yesterday I went to my other sewing group with mine and everyone wanted one. I have a month before we meet again, so I think I may be making some of these to take with me. </i></p><p><i>To add to this, Peter (hubby) is having a stall for his woodwork at the beginning of May and suggested I make some of these for him to sell. </i></p><p><i>He has also 'turned' some tape measure cases where the tape measure is encased and you wind it in with the knob on top. Aside from Covid affecting everywhere and everyone over the last few years, I have had a rather challenging time that has really knocked the stuffing out of me - so to speak.</i></p><p><i>Anyway, enough of that, this year I have decided to pick myself up, dust myself off, and move forward - no looking back.</i></p><p><i>To begin with I had a BIG clean out of my craft cave and off loaded projects that have been hanging around for years, and have begun a couple of new projects, yes just two for this year. Having said that amongst my clean up I came across a couple of cross stitch projects I have been meaning to do and decided that they would definitely be being completed.</i></p><p><i>The first one is a cross-stitch I did for my friend Karen (from Karen's Korner) and her husband for their 50th wedding anniversary. I also got them a lovely set of stemless champagne flutes to go with the cross-stitch.</i></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMzidnV80bCeMeKlYX1JfhVPdvKa3MOTRET7jnIfIqgc7-fRKXLuslCFHH4co_XTUZa1Oa58dvUlc-A83rKNCZLm1NT-ACV3jKb5_DKf1raRDlSiuqAUCrn6wm9a2mleLUxpL9Li_s3rzZHBcQHw-oyx08MEB23i2S2G-UCvaUtXCs1QQhcZiFU9qXqg/s1008/Resized_20220904_102849.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMzidnV80bCeMeKlYX1JfhVPdvKa3MOTRET7jnIfIqgc7-fRKXLuslCFHH4co_XTUZa1Oa58dvUlc-A83rKNCZLm1NT-ACV3jKb5_DKf1raRDlSiuqAUCrn6wm9a2mleLUxpL9Li_s3rzZHBcQHw-oyx08MEB23i2S2G-UCvaUtXCs1QQhcZiFU9qXqg/s320/Resized_20220904_102849.jpeg" width="240" /></i></a></div><i><br /></i><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPXK0zWLLL-bnumLDB2cm_Aatc8ai-BiMNkIq9qcWpPk28zkwp717M1Df-xMDV8XiChYtaMhtmwj3nil7mmIxb-4HOiNiC8ruKAVLqGTri6NrOgCQvxiAkpyBt8H3rc1-3rt0V39Z0LNbEhNIK95GzCYJKfIcQ8djI0RYskFl2OBAncm8PMSZdgBUdyA/s480/IMG_20230113_153427.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="270" data-original-width="480" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPXK0zWLLL-bnumLDB2cm_Aatc8ai-BiMNkIq9qcWpPk28zkwp717M1Df-xMDV8XiChYtaMhtmwj3nil7mmIxb-4HOiNiC8ruKAVLqGTri6NrOgCQvxiAkpyBt8H3rc1-3rt0V39Z0LNbEhNIK95GzCYJKfIcQ8djI0RYskFl2OBAncm8PMSZdgBUdyA/s320/IMG_20230113_153427.jpg" width="320" /></i></a></div><i><br /></i><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNsjg07kL87qS2d2YdeejcUyuzOHkWLTGpKJmhpn7Fde31-Lj838wGS1CF6rnfe9aP_ppvmGTRtY3tjbGaX6TcKarZJtnqLCNNWyFd3C-jGbRWHsy-Z8RuLuwCiTmQ6c0enK_qfNsDOsOhkNv_lawlc8n8IsHqzXu1VxhOQAhZDnPvCMcDVoN8nOck7Q/s500/PAL-SCG-Ea.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNsjg07kL87qS2d2YdeejcUyuzOHkWLTGpKJmhpn7Fde31-Lj838wGS1CF6rnfe9aP_ppvmGTRtY3tjbGaX6TcKarZJtnqLCNNWyFd3C-jGbRWHsy-Z8RuLuwCiTmQ6c0enK_qfNsDOsOhkNv_lawlc8n8IsHqzXu1VxhOQAhZDnPvCMcDVoN8nOck7Q/s320/PAL-SCG-Ea.jpg" width="320" /></i></a></div><i><br /></i><p><i>The other one is being done for hubby, and this is a shameful admission, I have had the pattern for 17 years - think it's about time I got around to doing it, don't you?</i></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg-Y6qjglWrKEFCDFUJ8bgkEd8xujF_xtEvlqZvq_A7OVB3HruYSu7LJtajd4H2vgGOF4_Vzo8SsW8uDUl1V37uKbV73vwd9qFdnJlHkr_p5cBwdqThV8tKUcz0oKxMhItIO4nIqf-cSPPCEogh50GmcHy3PFgEd3cm0gC1osLZHoeZiRBQ8JBt0oiDw/s1008/Cover%20of%20Vietnam%20Cross%20Stitch%20Chart.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><i><img border="0" data-original-height="1008" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg-Y6qjglWrKEFCDFUJ8bgkEd8xujF_xtEvlqZvq_A7OVB3HruYSu7LJtajd4H2vgGOF4_Vzo8SsW8uDUl1V37uKbV73vwd9qFdnJlHkr_p5cBwdqThV8tKUcz0oKxMhItIO4nIqf-cSPPCEogh50GmcHy3PFgEd3cm0gC1osLZHoeZiRBQ8JBt0oiDw/s320/Cover%20of%20Vietnam%20Cross%20Stitch%20Chart.jpg" width="240" /></i></a></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i>Just to add to the challenge, I am changing quite a few of the colours on it, plus adding a few extra bits and pieces.
