Stitchery Bits & Pieces Catch-up

With the colder weather in our midst, I have taken the time to sit in the warm of our loungeroom or my sewing room to catch up with some small projects I had on the go.

To begin with I have finished the cross-stitch I was doing for Peter, and now is at the framers to get mounted - quite looking forward to getting it back.

I also made a couple of items for my mug etc. I made a mug rug for my mug as I was finding the tea was getting cold before I got to finish it, particularly if I was stitching or reading and lost track of what I was doing. I then made a mug mat to match.

Peter looked at it and asked where his mat was. Well, to be honest if I had asked him if he wanted one, he would have said no. Anyway, me being me, made one for him as a surprise, and what was the reaction to this? He commented he meant it as a joke! Men!! So here is both of them.

Another little item I have made is a cutlery pouch to take with me to my Sewing Circle group. We take our own cups etc and depending what I decide to take for morning tea or lunch I need to have some cutlery with me and I got sick of them floating around the bottom of my bag, so hence this cutlery pouch.

I have begun a secret squirrel project for a friend for Christmas, will take me that long to make it along with other bits and pieces I plan to do in the next six months. One of the first things is a travelling ironing mat which will be good to take with my mini iron when we travel or when I require it for my sewing.

Then it will be be time to begin a couple of projects for Christmas. I plan to make a beautiful coffee table runner in vintage red lace and an angel embroidered with goldwork to sit on said coffee table.

Time to head off and get stitching with a nice cuppa to warm up on this cold day.

'Til next time,

June
