Bolster Cushion Completed

It has been a busy time for us of late and although I have been busily stitching I have also been helping Pete to organise an Army Platoon Reunion to be held this coming weekend - more about that next time.

I have also been doing some mending and alternations to a couple of tops for me and some shorts for Pete.

Unfortunately I have had to leave my precious bears in hibernation for the time being as I just couldn't manage  them (and their rascally ways) as well as everything else, but they shall return shortly.

However, my 'piece de resistance' this month has to be finishing the bolster cushion cover to go with our new bedroom setting.

As you can see from underneath the cushion, the damask doona cover set can be seen.

Now comes some of the steps that make up the bed runner. Lots and lots of little pieces to be appliqued on - I have stitched all the pieces on by hand.

One would think I am a glutton for punishment, but you know what, I am thoroughly enjoying it, and to date am very pleased with my efforts.

Having completed all 4 of these panels, I managed to add the side strips to them in readiness to them add the star blocks to them.

Once I finish the bed runner - hopefully very soon, our bedroom will look an absolute picture. Mind you, I am beginning to think that perhaps it will be totally impractable, but oh so lovely.

This is all I have time for at the moment as Pete has pressed the 'June' button on his laptop - obviously something has gone wrong and I am needed to set it right again.

For now though, remember ........

 'Til next time.
