A Great Day - Part 2

This time, we left the car at home and walked down to the local park where the celebrations for Australia Day were to be held. Pete was to give the guys on the Vietnam Veterans food van a hand with cooking sausages etc. They were one of a number of food vans that were set up around the park. Plenty of entertainment as well.

And because of the beautiful weather that we had, there were also plenty of people making use of the waterfront.

As the sun set the entertainment ramped up and it was a wonderful concert in the park.

To finish the evening off, we were given a wonderful display of fireworks.

Well, this is how we celebrated not only our Silver Wedding Anniversary but also Australia Day - finishing off with a big party!

Time to reflect on the day, but also the last 25 years for us, with plenty more to come, we hope.

So for now, I shall say goodnight ....

'Til next time,

A Great Day - Part 1

Oh my goodness, thought we had kept our wedding anniversary fairly quiet, but Karen from Karen's Korner 'let the cat out of bag' so to speak with the lovely quilted mat she made and sent to us on behalf of her hubby and herself for the occasion. Thank you so much Karen.

This is a cross stitch I did just after our wedding and is a very special one for us.

And so the actual day dawned this morning with what promised to be absolutely glorious weather.

Peter gave me a lovely card with a bottle of wine to share - bit early for that, haven't even had breakfast yet!

Our morning was relatively quiet until it was time to head off for lunch over at the local Surf Life Saving Club. Oh gosh the view from the balcony over the entrance to Moreton Bay today was wonderful.

Not sure who those people are on the rise, but we will share our view with them. Now, whilst we were eating our delicious lunch, as usual the guys from the Surf Club Nippers (juniors) came around with some meat tray raffles. And wouldn't you know ... to put 'the icing on the cake' of our lunch, we won one of the beautiful lamb meat trays. More about the significance of it being lamb in my next post later tonight.

Now it is home for a couple of hours at home before heading off again for part 2 of our wonderful day.

For now though, enjoy your day.

It Has Come to an End

Way way back I embarked on a project that I was to work on in between lots of other things I made along the way.

Back in 2017 I began by creating my first mini quilt set, and over the years I have continued to make 7 sets of 4 mini quilts with me finishing the last set just last week.

Hubby made me a little timber stand to hang my quilts on and I now have enough quilts to change them every two weeks throughout the year.

It is interesting, when the photos of all seven sets are put together just how my style of making the quilts has changed over the years. Each set has a focus, and I shall put each one with it's photo.

'Celebrations'

'Crafty'
'Sayings'
'Seasons'
'Bears'
'Travel'
'Uniquely Australian'

Once each set is put together, they then get to sit on the stand.

For now, I am putting my feet up and enjoying a little break before I begin some projects for this year.

Please keep safe, and look after yourselves,

'Til next time,

June
