Hexis under way

I have finally begun to get under way with my hexagons for the quilt (long term project I would say). Been caught up with other small projects as well that I felt needed to be completed. The first 4 are finished and I have begun to get going with the next group.

What makes these look so special - in my opinion - is that you can use the watercolour pencils to add shading to your designs. You can see it more on the pansies than the sewing machine (it's shading is light blue). The other two 'sampler' hexis are stitched using the coloured threads from the 'picture' designs.

Having a quiet morning - such glorious weather for winter in Queensland - that I think I might gather my project folder with the next lot of hexis in it and go out on our verandah to stitch.

Have a great day everyone, 'til next time,

Placemats Done

Friends of ours have just recently purchased a new (to them) motorhome and went away for their first mini trip last week up to the Bunya Mountains in South East Queensland.

To take with them I made a pair of motorhome placemats.

Quite pleased with the way they came up, and I made them so you can turn them over for a fairly plain fabric which will mean you can use them other than in the motorhome.

Now I thought they were silly (?) going up to the Bunya Mtns at this time of year (4 to 21 degs o/night tonight & tomorrow) - it can be quite cold up there, however I then remember, we are just as silly as we are planning a mini trip of our own coming up to 'outback Qld' - out to western Queensland - now THAT will be cold!

Surprisingly, I have begun on a couple of Christmas projects, however I think one in particular may take me more than a couple of months to complete. More about them later.

'Til next time, take care,

All Finshed

After 6 months and lots of changes (colours mostly) I have finished the cross-stitch I was creating for Peter and it was off to the framers. I am extremely pleased with how it has come up.

This was a labour of love that I feel I was honoured and privileged to do for my hubby. Quite a few of the colours are different from what the original pattern gave, but working with Peter, we came up with the colours that both of us were happy with as well as the 'personalized' additions to make it exclusively his.

Now to get into a few other projects in the pipeline that I wish to do now that staying inside with the colder weather is here is my comfy place.

'Til next time,

June
